The tournament, which will run till June 28, is co-organised by the Chikara and Kensei softball teams.
Aside from local teams, also competing are teams from the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.
The aims of the tournament were to build camaraderie amongst the players especially with the foreign players and also to strengthen and promote the softball sport in the country.
"There are several players in the foreign teams who are representatives of their country," said an official from the organising committee.
"This will also help in developing the skills of the local players who are playing in the tournament," added the official.

Participating in the women's division are Chikara, Comets, Red Arrow, Pasadena, Legends (Philippines) and Rebels (Indonesia).

The second stage of the tournament will be played in the Page System with seven innings.
The top four teams will advance into the knock out stages where the winners will advance to the championship round on June 28.
